I’m Heaven Leigh, a footwear and accessories designer currently in the BFA program at the Fashion Institute of Technology. My work explores the intersection of avant-garde expression and utilitarian function—drawing from history while experimenting with modern innovations. Each design is intended to feel like an extension of the wearer: bold, functional, and deeply expressive.
Sustainability is at the core of my practice. I strive to source materials consciously and design with longevity in mind, always pushing myself to learn new ways to reduce waste and honor the environments from which I draw. Equally important is representation: design should move beyond surface aesthetics, creating products that celebrate culture with respect and offer inclusivity for all identities.
My work has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar and recognized through several design competitions, reflecting both my creative range and my dedication to craftsmanship. To me, footwear and accessories are more than objects—they’re tools of empowerment, carrying the stories of history, ownership, and evolution into the present.
